[Washington DC] - On April 27, 2023, Courtney Pettway, CEO and Co-founder of KidVestors, along with four other Kentucky small business owners traveled to Capitol Hill in Washington DC. The Co-founder was invited by Meta to share their vision with members of Congress and other key decision-makers by advocating for financial education in schools across the country and financial inclusion for all.

The event, which brought together key policymakers, industry leaders, and advocates, provided a platform for Courtney to share insights and ideas on how to promote financial literacy and inclusion among young people and underrepresented communities.

During Courtney’s remarks, she emphasized the importance of equipping children with financial literacy skills early on to set them up for success in the long term. She highlighted how KidVestors, a financial literacy platform designed specifically for K-12th students, helps youth understand basic financial concepts and cultivate responsible money habits.

The Co-founder spoke about the need for greater financial inclusion, particularly for those who have been historically underserved by the traditional financial system. She emphasized that by promoting financial literacy and providing access to financial tools and resources, we can help bridge the gap and promote greater economic mobility.

"I am honored to have had the opportunity to come to Capitol Hill and share our vision for financial education and inclusion," said Courtney. "At KidVestors, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn about financial literacy, and every person deserves access to the tools and resources they need to achieve financial wellness."

Courtney's visit to Capitol Hill was well received by members of Congress and office staff members, who praised KidVestors for their dedication to promoting financial literacy and inclusion.

The Co-founder's visit to Capitol Hill was just one step in their ongoing efforts to promote financial literacy and inclusion. The organization will continue to work with lawmakers, educators, and other stakeholders to ensure that financial education remains a top priority in schools across the country.
